Wedding Wednesdays

10 09 2008

I can’t believe how quickly the weeks are passing. One month from today I will be at my wedding!!! WF’s sister, one of my bridesmaids, texted me this morning to remind me of the time line 😉

I am happy to report that the bridesmaids’ dresses have arrived so there are no other key components in transit. Everything is where it should be. Ah, sweet sight of relief.

Over the next few weeks I am working on several of the detail type things, like the favors. We bought cute little plastic jars online, cut fabric squares and hot glued them to the lids, then tied a bow. The jars will be filled with three Oreo cookies and we’ll put a label on the jar with our names and the wedding date.

I know what you’re thinking: Why Oreos? Before WF and I started dating we were each able to eat entire sleeves/packages of Oreos in one sitting, by ourselves. I know that’s gross, but by golly it’s true. When we starting dating we realized that we no longer had to be gross oreo pigs alone and we could enjoy our abilities to “kill”, “hoover”, “demolish” a package of Oreos while watching The Hills, Project Runway, MythBusters, Deadliest Catch, or some stupid movie on HBO that we’ve seen at least 14 times collectively. (Examples: Eragon — huge eye roll; that movie with Mark Wahlberg playing for the Eagles; 300 — good the first time, not the 2nd thru 29th times; I could continue but you get the idea.)

Oh, and we usually start watching the movie somewhere in the middle or toward the end, like at the climactic part. And then I usually ask questions about the beginning of the movie to make sure I really know what we’re watching and I can remember why the climax is so climactic. Yep, that’s the story behind the oreos and a peek into the fascinating lives of WF and me. I know, you’re jealous.

So now that you wish you were us, here’s a picture of the cookie jars. I apologize for the poor quality. I was having trouble getting them to really show up since they are so dark.
